Lara and her Bunny

she said her name was,

spinning around like a whimsical princess

in a living room where

sofas had transformed into banana trees.

Before leaping from one tree to another,

she threw her soft toy bunny forward so

that she could keep an eye on it.

The floppy eared sac lay sprawled on the carpet,

waiting for its owner to scoop it up.

“Wouldn’t the bunny be in pain?

You’re throwing it just like that!” I asked.

Lara stopped, stared at me cluelessly only to

continue prancing about in her modern jungle,

A wild child and her companion-

United against the bogus logic of this world.
